In controlled environments such as pharmaceutical manufacturing units, biotechnology labs, and electronics facilities, maintaining cleanliness and structural integrity is non-negotiable. A crucial component contributing to this is the Cleanroom Ceiling Panels system. These panels are engineered for functionality, durability, and compliance with strict industry standards, making them an essential part of any cleanroom design.

Cleanroom Ceiling Panels: Technical Overview

1. Types of Cleanroom Ceiling Panels

  • Walkable and Non-Walkable Options: Depending on maintenance access and application requirements, cleanroom ceiling panels are available in walkable and non-walkable configurations.

  • Panel Structure: These panels are designed in plank forms, typically 1200 mm in width with length customized as per project drawings.

2. Panel Composition

  • Outer Skin Material: Cleanroom ceiling panels are fabricated using high-quality Powder Coated Galvanized Iron (PCGI), Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron (PPGI), and stainless steel sheets on both sides.

  • Sheet Thickness: Options include 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm to cater to specific strength and insulation requirements.

  • Coating Specifications:

    • Powder coating: 60-80 microns

    • Pre-coating: 30-35 microns

3. Insulation & Core Fill Material To ensure excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, the panels are filled with high-performance materials such as:

  • Polyurethane Foam (PUF) – 40±2 kg/m³

  • Polyisocyanurate (PIR) – 48±2 kg/m³

  • ROCKWOOL – 96 kg/m³ to 144 kg/m³

4. Sealing & Gap Control Cleanroom ceiling panels are sealed with food-grade silicone on both sides to maintain a sterile environment. The sealant ensures that gaps do not exceed 4 mm, minimizing contamination risks.

Design & Load Bearing Capacity

  • Panel Dimensions: Standard width is 1200 mm; height and thickness (35 mm, 50 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm) can be customized.

  • Load Capacity: Engineered to carry loads ranging from 75 to 250 kg/m², making them suitable for various equipment and maintenance needs.

  • Support System: These ceiling panels are supported by wall panels and suspension rods anchored firmly with adjustable turnbuckles.

Additional Features

  • Customizable Colors: While RAL 9002 is the standard color, other RAL chart colors can be provided as per aesthetic or operational needs.

  • Panel Type Options: Progressive and non-progressive configurations are available based on installation and maintenance preferences.

  • Cutouts & Access: HVAC and electrical cutouts can be pre-provided with C-type flashings, ensuring clean integration into the panel system.

  • Hanging Mechanism: Suspension rods with adjustable turnbuckles and anchoring provide secure ceiling stability.

Conclusion

Cleanroom ceiling panels are much more than structural elements—they are critical to maintaining the integrity of controlled environments. With customizable features, superior load-bearing capacity, and high-quality insulation, they offer the perfect blend of performance and compliance for modern cleanroom applications.
