Cleanroom Ceiling Panels are essential components in ensuring contamination-free environments across industries like pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, and electronics. These panels are designed not only to provide structural integrity but also to support hygienic conditions, insulation, and mechanical requirements in cleanroom settings.

Types of Cleanroom Ceiling Panels

There are two major types of ceiling panels available for cleanroom applications:

  • Walk-On Ceiling Panels are engineered to safely support personnel for routine maintenance and inspection tasks above the cleanroom area.

  • Non-Walk-On Ceiling Panels: Lightweight and cost-effective, used where personnel access is not required.

Construction & Material Specifications

Each ceiling panel is constructed with high-grade materials to ensure durability, hygiene, and insulation:

  • Skin materials are available in Powder Coated Galvanized Iron (PCGI), Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron (PPGI), and Stainless Steel to suit various cleanroom requirements.

  • Sheet Thickness: Available in 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm for varied strength and durability requirements.

  • Powder Coating Thickness: 60–80 microns

  • Pre-Coating Thickness: 30–35 microns

Insulation Options

To meet different thermal and fire-resistance needs, panels are filled with high-performance insulation materials:

  • PUF: Density 40±2 kg/m³

  • PIR: Density 48±2 kg/m³

  • Rockwool insulation is available with a density range of 96 kg/m³ to 144 kg/m³ for enhanced thermal and acoustic performance.

Structural & Dimensional Features

  • Framework: Galvanized Iron profiles form the structural support.

  • Panel Width: Standard 1200 mm

  • Panel Thickness: Available in 35 mm, 50 mm, 80 mm, and 100 mm

  • Load Carrying Capacity: 75 to 250 kg/m², suitable for equipment and maintenance personnel.

Sealing and Finishing

Cleanroom ceiling panels are sealed with food-grade silicone on both sides to prevent contamination and air leakage. The gap between joints is maintained at less than 4 mm to ensure a tight and secure fit.

  • Color Options: Standard RAL 9002 with availability of custom colors from the RAL chart.

  • Panel Types: Available in both Progressive and Non-Progressive types, depending on installation and maintenance needs.

Additional Features

  • HVAC & Electrical Cutouts: Panels can be factory-prepared with C-type flashing cutouts for seamless integration.

  • Suspension System: Each panel is suspended using adjustable rods and turnbuckles, securely anchored into the slab above.

Conclusion

Cleanroom Ceiling Panels are essential to achieving effective cleanroom design and maintaining controlled performance standards.By selecting panels with the right structural, thermal, and hygienic characteristics, industries can ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and long-term operational efficiency. Whether you're upgrading an existing cleanroom or constructing a new facility, choosing the right ceiling panel system is key to controlling contamination and maximizing functionality.
